Just what happened that night is only one of the secrets surrounding June and Delia (and June's boyfriend Ryan). Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls is absolutely full to the brim with secrets. Secrets, half truths, possibilities, lies and uncertainties.
Even when it seems sure that things have finally come out in the open, unbelievable though they may seem, you know, somehow, that they whole truth is not out there yet.
The book description says it, 'will keep you guessing until the very last page' but that's only partially true. You will definitely still be guessing after the last page, as well. I loved trying to figure this one out (and actually, I still am).
We get to know June's character, slowly, through what happens and what she remembers, but I loved how who she was came together. And who Delia was.
It's hard to say too much without including some spoiler (which I don't want to do) but I loved how the a book that seems to start with a girl's former best friend committing suicide and her figuring out how to grieve her, becomes so much more. The book has a lot of twists, turns, false starts, and misdirections but comes together fantastically.
This is one story - along with its characters - that's going to be in my head for a while.
